DMT (IMCA) and PHTLS Courses

IMCA DMT Full Course

The IMCA approved Full DMT (Diver Medical Technician) Course is one of our most popular Commercial Diving training courses. The course is 10 days with 72 contact hours in classroom covering practical and theoretical studies. The Diver Medical Technician Refresher Course consists of 5 days with 35 contact hours.

Hyperbaric training.

The course is designed to give every diver a knowledge of first aid and for those who wish to progress, a deeper insight to Diver Medicine with the ability to cope with most emergencies encountered within the diving field. Training is held at one of the busiest Hyperbaric Units in the country so we aim to offer as much practical experience in the Hyperbaric field as possible, ranging from routine patient care through to the critically ill ventilated patient in a Hyperbaric environment.   A minimum of 6 candidates is required to run each course.

Full DMT Course (Refresher also course available) Cost: £885 including VAT and meals.

A minimum of 6 candidates is required to run each course. Hyperbaric Treatment and Training Services reserve the right to cancel courses.

PHTLS Course

The course is aimed at health care professionals who work in the pre-hospital environment.

Critical trauma patient.

Eligibility : * IHCD qualified ambulance technician * HCPC registered paramedics * Registered nurses involved in immediate care * Fully registered medical practitioner ie SHO and above * Currently serving military medical personnel * Emergency services personnel (Fire, Police, Coastguard, Intermediate Tier Ambulance Staff) where as part of their day to day duties they are required to provide advanced emergency care * Health care practitioner with evidence of prehospital involvement from either an ambulance service or a hospital This is one of the few pre-hospital trauma courses that actually has accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons, London. PHTLS is now taught in 47 countries world wide and has an international medical faculty who oversee its progress and delivery. It is proud to be celebrating the eighth edition manual. The whole delivery has changed in accordance with evidenced based medicine. Candidates demonstrating a high level of proficiency throughout the course may be invited to attend future courses to gain greater skills. PHTLS taught at this facility is run over a three day period, where on the third day we put into practise the skills aquired over the two days of the PHTLS course. We also offer a study day free of charge to students wishing to develop knowledge and skills prior to the course.
